Magic, Myths & Miracles: The 4th International Amazonian Shamanism Conference:
I’m really hoping to get to this… a whole heap of things recently haveled me to believe this is where I should be.
Tegan and I were discussing travelling and I said I’d really like to do a proper Ayahuasca ritual in Peru. A few days…
For the last three years, 200+ like minded people come to the Amazonian Shamanism Conference held here in Iquitos, Peru to here the famous Presenters and meet 20+ hand picked shamans, the finest in the Upper Amazon. Three nights during the Conference are free to allow everyone to be in a shamanic ceremony with the shaman of their choice.

all the good things,
Reblogged this on oogenhand and commented:
Shamanism should be taken as serious as any other religion.
Shamanism is not religion, I’d say. Rather, it is a spiritual practice. Religion is an institutional power game, a puritan exercise lacking spirit.
So shamanism differs in a positive way! 🙂
Indeed. Additionally, one might say, religion follows from shamanism and, that’s my view, it is the combined forced of the introduction of scripture and civilisation (that is: grain eating) generally that perverts shamamism to become religion.
